There is a new TV series on Amazon Prime called Lorena, revisiting the events of John Wayne & Lorena Bobbitt. In case you are not familiar with the subject, Lorena Bobbitt was the woman who cut off her husband’s penis while he was asleep back in the 1990’s.
In the trailer of this movie the phrase, “What did he do to make her do something like that?” is said. After that, they mentioned that that she lived with the abuse that pushed her over the edge. There were claims that he pushed and shoved her except nobody ever asked, “What did SHE do to make him do something like that?”
I do not advocate violence at all. Nobody should hit anyone, ever! Male, female or any of the newly discovered and / or not yet discovered 10,000 genders out there.
With that said, I was around at this time and was sickened on how many women were cheering for Lorena without knowing the facts that lead up to this horrific act.
For many years after the sexual mutilation of her husband while he was asleep, Lorena Bobbit toured the country giving speeches to women on domestic violence and gets standing ovations. She even appeared on a talk show hosted by Steve Harvey to the same audience response. I’m just wondering if she is giving advice on how to become a domestic abuser.
Lorena Stated that her husband was cheating on her, had an alcohol and drug problem, and she said he was abusive and used to hit her. If this was true, and she was in fear for her life, why did she wait for him to come home from work?
John Wayne Bobbit had 3 jobs. 2 of those jobs required periodic drug testing. Do you think that a man that worked 3 jobs had the money, time and energy to afford to be a cheating husband? He also claimed that his wife, Lorena used to hit and make fun of him that he earned so little.
It’s never a woman’s fault, he made her do it.
